Hello, my name is Jason Mauss. I’m excited to be coaching the Prestonwood Flyers Swim Team this summer. Some of you might have seen me around the pool deck since I’m from the Houston area. I swam summer league for the Carriage Lane Splashers, Fleet, and graduated from Cy Creek as a four-year varsity swimmer and water polo player. Then I went to Delta State University to study and swim for 2 years before ending up at Texas A&M where I graduated.

My coaching background includes 30 plus years of being a successful head coach in NWAL at Carriage Lane, Greenwood Forest, and Jersey Village. Currently I’m the head swimming / water polo coach and history teacher at Memorial HS for the last 24 years. I’ve been blessed to work with some very talented swimmers, water polo players, and teams who have accomplished high honors at different levels. My passion is coaching and teaching the sport of swimming in an enthusiastic way. However, my favorite part of the year is summer league swimming as I watch athletes learn new skills and improve. Watch out since you might hear me cheering loud for you as you accomplish your goals.

My swimming philosophy is to help create an atmosphere of hard work as we improve our swimming skills. This will be done in a way to have fun but in a challenging way as we create friendships along the journey.
