FAQs
Does my child need to know how to swim?
NO!! We have a guppy program for novice swimmers that runs for the first 2 weeks of the season, the cost for that program is $75.00. Upon completion of the program if your child is able to swim across our 25 meter pool they are invited to join our competitive swimmers in our swim season, their registration for competitive swim will be discounted by the guppy program cost.
How long is the season?
Practices begin April 22 and the regular season ends after our divisional meet on June 14th. Swimmers may qualify for additional invitational meets based on performance, which go into late June.
How much does it cost?
$195 is the registration cost for the first swimmer, additional swimmers from the same family are $55 for the second swimmer, and $40.00 each swimmer after that. Swimmers 15 to 18 are only $40.00. The other cost is the team uniform available at D&J Sports that is typically between $38- $48. The uniform is only required for competitive athletes, Guppies are able to wear whatever swim gear they would like to.
How much time does this take?
Practices are available daily- please see the practice schedule for times. We understand it isn't always possible to make it to every practice but we highly encourage each family to attend as many practices as they are able to. To be considered for relay swimmers must attend 75% of practices for the week prior to the meet.
How can I get involved?
We are so glad you asked, we need your help! Each family is required to earn a number of volunteer points in the season. Volunteering for one "shift" which is half a swim meet for each of our meets will help you earn those points. You will be there to watch your child, might as well get the best view as a timer or scribe! We have a need for help with concessions during our home meets as well as other roles please do not hesitate to reach out to any board member to learn more!
